At the beginning it was easier to register under .com and .org than under .ke. It is a challenge now to continue people that it has benefits to have a .ke name. Also, it used to be very unstable (run by the monopoly netwerk). People had lost trust in .ke. Kenic is trying to give incentive by having competitive prices. There are 6 second-level domains: sc (schools) or (organisators) gov (governments) ne (networks) ac (academic) co (commercial) 2 . Registration Process How do registrations arrive? How many people deal with them? How are registration policies implemented? Registrations are made on a fist come first served basis, except for .gov.ke and .ac.ke (they require certain documentation). Registrations are done through registrars, typically ISPs (they need to fulfill certain requirements to become a registrar). There is also a dispute resolution process. 3.
